2017 - Home for a Hero Recipient
Marine Sergeant Seann Windfield is a combat-wounded veteran of multiple campaigns in Iraq. Along with his wife Stacy and their children Calvin, Lou, Brande, and Deliliah, Sgt. Windfield is the 9th Hero to be benefitted by the proceeds of this annual event.
Marine Sergeant Windfield enlisted in the Marines in 2004 and served until 2012, completing three tours in Iraq and suffering multiple injuries that keep him in constant pain. Sgt. Windfield was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines with a 100% Permanent and Total (P&T) disabled rating from the VA. He suffered spinal disc herniation and nerve damage when he fell through a roof in west Baghdad while conducting building clearing operations. The damage to his spine prevents him from working since his discharge. Seann and his family have been homeless, lived in a tent, and are now renting a house in Satellite Beach, Florida, until the Home at Last house is complete. Future plans include Seann and daughter Brande attending UCF together to obtain Undergraduate Degrees. Central Florida is where they wish to make their home and a "disability friendly" home is planned for them in Winter Garden, Florida.
